Discover New Workplace Practices

With nearly half of all teachers nationwide reporting frequent feelings of burnout and inadequate mental health support, there is no question that action is needed in the field of education.

In this hands-on recording you'll hear from Tamiko Nettles, an organizational development consultant and former Manager of Educator Engagement for Chicago Public Schools, who will share how she helps education leaders address staff burnout through a mix of “quick wins” and long-term planning.

You'll explore the cycle of emotional highs and lows that occur in predictable patterns throughout the school year and consider actions they can take within that cycle to better support staff.

In this recording, you'll be guided through:

  • A case study example of how one district took action on the immediate need for adult social-emotional learning and workplace wellness
  • Visioning exercises that help them imagine the kind of culture they would like to cultivate
  • Mindfulness activities to identify immediate actions that are within their locus of control
