Margot Toppen is a whole child wellness and ed tech leader, program & partnership developer, and dynamic communicator with 15+ years of experience leading social enterprises.
Early in her career, Margot developed Dancing with Class, now a highly sought-after program serving hundreds of Chicago-area schools each year. This paved the way for the development and launch of EduMotion: SEL Journeys, a digital product that delivers an SEL-themed movement curriculum inspired by world cultures. Margot is a dynamic presenter who frequently appears at conferences related to whole child wellness and SEL, as well as physical and mental health education. In 2021, Margot negotiated the sale of SEL Journeys to CATCH Global Foundation, where she engaged as a member of the leadership team to ensure successful integration of the program into their portfolio. In her time with CATCH, Margot facilitated significant growth by playing a key role in the company’s strategic planning and DEI initiatives, overseeing the design and development of a new comprehensive health education product, and transforming the organization’s approach to customer success, user engagement, and professional development for PreK-12 educators.
Margot is a graduate of Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, Media & Integrated Marketing Communications as well as the Kellogg School of Management’s non-profit executive program, with a focus on innovation and leadership. In her free time, Margot serves as a volunteer for Everywoman Project Chicago and a groupie for her son’s punk rock band, while finding balance and serenity through yoga, social dance, and stand-up paddleboarding.
